Beetle assemblages are influenced by a number of factors which have not been comprehensively investigated so far. The structure of particular community may depend on kind of wood, its dimensions, location in while it develops, dampness, sunshine intensity, species of fungi encountered in the wood, type of rot, the degree of decomposition caused by fungi, nutritional preferences of particular species, and the presence of other organisms found in deadwood
