During the period from 2006 till 2008, an experiment was established with grapevine cultivars Liza, Petra, Riesling Italian, Neoplanta and Probus, with the aim to obtain cognition about influence of shoot thinning and lateral shoot clusters removing on yield and grape and vine quality. Investigation was carried out at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad, Serbia, which is situated in Sremski Karlovci. For grafting were used rootstock Kober 5BB, and vines were trained on a Karlovacki training system and one-arm Guyot modification. Bud load, for all cultivars, was conducted with winter pruning in amounts of 6.25 buds/square meter. There were two variants in this experiment: 1. treatment (T) - shoot thinning and lateral shoot clusters removing; 2. Control (K) - control treatment, no additional operation like was applied in treatment T. The experimental design used is a randomized complete block system with three repetition. Shoot thinning and lateral shoot clusters removing significantly reduces, in most of the cultivars, number of shoots per canopy length and only for Petra number of inflorescences per winter bud. Variant T had no sinificant effect on yield, fruit composition and Ravaz inddex. Wine quality, in variant T was better, except for cultivars Sila and Probus.
