Constructed wetland in Gložan (Serbia) represents the first constructed system of biologically active fields for treatment of wastewaters in our country. The system was designed and constructed to accept municipal wastewaters of Gložan settlement. For this purpose, the plant used is the common reed (Phragmites australis), whose natural habitat is on the site of the constructed system. The constructed wetland in Gložan appeared to be efficient in removing suspended matter by 94% and lowering content of organic matter, expressed via BOD5 by 80.9%.
