The domestic cultivar Kupusinski Jabucar was used for planting bulb seedlings on different dates – in autumn on October 10 and 25, and November 10, and in spring on March 10, April 10 and May 10. Then the hybrid Aldobo-F1 and the cultivar Kupusinski Jabucar were directly sown on August 25, and September 5 and 15 (in autumn) and on March 10, April 10 and May 10 (in spring). The cultivar Kupusinski Jabucar yield obtain by planting onion set on October 10 and 25, and November 10, amounted to 40.8, 26.1 and 36.6 t/ha respectively. The corresponding yield for the spring planting (March 10, April 10 and May 10) amounted to 39.2, 39.0 and 11.0 t/ha. The following yields were obtained by direct sowing: 23.6, 24.2 and 22.2 t/ha performed on August 25 and September 5 and 25, respectively. The yields obtained in the spring sowing (March 10 and April 10) were: 18.2 and 16.7 t/ha while onion sown on May 10 had no yield. The average yield of the hybrid Aldobo-F1 amounted to 31.3, 32.9 and 16.3 t/ha for autumn sowing dates (August 25 and September 5 and 17 respectively). The following yields were obtained in spring sowing dates (March 10, April 10): 16.7 and 12.3 t/ha. This study offers the time management procedure and different types of production, as well as, the right time for picking up and recommends the different use of onion.
