The monograph presents results of flora and vegetation of Labudovo okno (Serbia). Labudovo Okno locality (50-84 elevation) is situated in the south-eastern part of the edge of the Pannonian Plains, resting along the left bank of the Danube between 1982 and 1078 river km. The investigated locality is the result of rise of the Danube level after dam building of the hydroelectric power station Djerdap 1. Total amount of 68 species were recorded, developing in the water and coastal water-ground belt. One species (Equisetum arvense) is from category Equisetophyta, two (Salvinia natans and Azolla filiculoides) from category Polypodiophyta while the majority of the identified species (65) are from category Magnoliophyta. Vegetation of the area is represented with ten differentiated associations and four subassociations which starting from the deeper water form the following ecological series: Ceratophylletum demersi (Soo 1927) Hild 1956, Myriophyllo-Potametum Soo 1943, Nymphaetum alboluteae Nowinski 1928 subass. nupharetosum Soo 1973, Trapetum natantis Mueller Goers 1960, Lemno-Spirodeletum W. Koch 1954, Salvinio-Spirodeletum polyrrhizae Slavnic 1956, Lemno-minoris-Azolletum filiculoides Br.-Bl. 1952, Scirpo-Phragmitetum W. Koch 1926, Acoretum calami (Eggler 33), Schulz 41 and Eleochari aciculari-Schenoplectosum supini Soo et Ubrizsy 1948 subass. eleocharetosum palustris Ubrizsy 1961. Obtained results should make it possible to anticipate further changes and to elect appropriate measures of environment protection in this ecosystem.
