Antioxidant activity, total phenolic content and flavonoid concentration were determined by spectrophotometric methods in Teucrium polium extracts. Water methanolic, acetone, ethyl acetate and petroleum ether extract were analyzed. The concentration of total phenolic compounds was determined by Folin-Ciocalteu reagent and the obtained values ranged from 17.99 to 124.92 mg Ga/g of extract. The concentrations of flavonoids in plant extracts of T. polium ranged from 6.97 to 78.82 mg RU/g of extract. Antioxidant activity was determined in vitro using the DPPH reagent. The highest antioxidant activity exhibited water and methanolic extract. The obtained values show that some extracts of T. polium are very rich source of phenolic compounds with strong antioxidant activity.
