In domestic agroecological conditions, it is possible to realize various production and economic effects of irrigated crops. Depending on the size of irrigated area, the level of technical equipment, available labour power as well as the market demand, it is possible to quantify the effects. Crop budget analysis for 24 cultures was used as the basis for effect assessment. Based on that, the cultures were ranked by production and economic effects: cultures with expected value of production to 1.000 EUR/ha, 1.000-2.000 EUR/ha and over 2.000 EUR/ha. Obtained data indicate that different irrigation effects on the same area can be attained depending on the crop and product price. In particular, irrigation effect on small-scale area were investigated in order to propose other production models. Eleven production models for areas of 5, 10 and 20 ha were proposed. On small-scale areas, selection of irrigation technologies is also an important issue. In this case, two technologies are suggested for general use: sprinkler and drip irrigation. For example, a small-scale area of 2 ha was used, and the analysis of necessary investments showed that drip irrigation demands greater investment. Analysis of exploitation expences for the same technologies shows the advantage of drip irrigation ( lower costs ). Orientation towards a particular technology depends on the type of crop and the achieved effect. Cucumber production was taken as an example in order to compare these two technologies, taking into account irrigation expences as well as other production expences and comparing them with production value of refered crop. The data obtained show that drip irrigation yields better production and economic effects compared to sprinkler irrigation.
