Our civilization's unsatisfiable thirst for all the forms of resources that planet and its inhabitants can yield, rapidly starts to threaten the survival of the human race. Using up the environment until its own destruction is a characteric of a certain types of (malajusted) viruses, and not at all of a (pseudo)intelligent species. For its own survival human race will, inevitably, be forced to accept certain compromises. One of those compromises grants (relative) regard to existence of other forms of life. Parameter to measure the quality of that relationship is - biodiversity! One of the easiest and most feasible ways to protect biodiversity is conservation of existing bio-systems and sanation of any damages they might have incurred, but possibilities for that conservation in transitional circumstances, are not numerous. Creation of new zones of exclusive protection is completely unrealistic in the situation where currently protected areas offer no protection to the plants and animals. Only real solution is reducing random human influences on the eco-systems by spreading the infrastruction networks. Infrastruction networks 'most responsible' for negative effects of the spread of human civilization are those dedicated to energy and transport. The best way to decrease their damaging influence on the environment is transfer to the types of fuels that cause less pollution. From the points of exploitation and use, natural gas imposes as one of the best solutions.
