Experiment carried out with quails, fed one-time daily on contaminated by caesium-137 feed, proves that the radionuclide disappears very quickly in a quail organism, quails being fed on uncontaminated feeds. Within the first 2 weeks the effective period of half-elimination lasts for 4 days. The highest 137Cs concentration is found in muscular tissues. In other organs and tissues 137Cs concentration was three times as less. 137Cs content in eggs is 50-100 times lower than in meat. Major part of 137Cs (55%—75%) is found in whites, less (4%-40%) in yolks, 5%-20% in an eggshell, from general radionuclide content in an egg
