Evaluation of sikosto 360 SL (glyphosate) for aquatic weed control in irrigation canals and drains in the Gezira Scheme

Two experiments were carried out in the Gezira scheme to evaluate the activity and efficacy of Sikosto 360 SL (a new formulation of glyphosate) on the control of aquatic weeds in irrigation canals and drains in comparison with the standard formulation, Roundup. Sikosto 360 SL showed excellent and persistent control (92 _ 100 %) of emergent aquatic weeds at 60 _ 120 days after application similar to that of the standard Roundup (93 _ 100 %) during the same period. However, some weed species, particularly broadleaved ones, showed some degree of regeneration
