Effect of dimethomorph and seed treating method on seed quality and the control of downy mildew of sweet corn was investigated. The experimental design was 2*5 factorial in RCB. Factor A was comprised of two dimethomorph application methods, i.e., seed dressing and seed coating, while factor B was composed of five rates of dimethomorph, i.e., 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 g ai/kg seed. The results revealed that dimethomorph applied both by seed dressing and seed coating had no effect on seed germination and vigor. Furthermore, seed dressing and coating with dimethomorph at the rate 2.5, 5, 7.5 and 10 g ai/kg seed effectively protected downy mildew and seed coating better than seed dressing.
