英语. Bacterial canker, caused by the bacterium Clavibacter micihganensis subsp.michiganensis (Cmm), is a very destructive disease of greenhouse as well as field tomatoes. The bacterium is a seed and soil-borne pathogen, and to control of this disease is difficult, various measures have been suggested to manage it. Biological control of seed and soil-borne pathogen may be an alternative to chemical control. In recent years, some researches have been carried out on biological control of bacterial canker of tomato. The objectives of the present study were to isolate potential antagonistic rhizobacteria of Cmm, and to investigate their efficiency on Cmm in vitro and on tomato plants.

Örtü altı ve açıkta domates yetiştiriciliğinde Domates Bakteriyel Solgunluk ve Kanser etmeni Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis (Cmm) ciddi kayıplara neden olmaktadır. Domates Bakteriyel Solgunluk Hastalığının primer inokulum kaynağının tohum kabuğu veya embriyoda bulunan bakteri olması nedeniyle alınacak kontrol önlemleri tohumdaki patojeni elemine etmeye yönelik olmalıdır. Ancak uygulanabilirliği kabul edilmiş olan tohum uygulamaları da Cmm'e karşı her zaman etkili olmayabilir. Son yıllarda Cmm' e karşı biyolojik savaşın alternatif bir mücadele yöntemi olabileceği belirtilmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, domates bitkilerinden izole edilen kök bakterilerinin domateste bakteriyel kanser ve solgunluk etmeni Cmm'i engelleme potansiyellerinin in vitro ve in vivo koşullarda denenmesidir.
