英语. Field, plot and germination trials were established to determine the phytotoxic effect of atrazine, nicosulfuron, foramsulfuron, metholachlor-s, atrazine plus metholachlor on sugar beet. These herbicides were applied at a standart herbicide rate, 1/2, 1/10, 1/50 and 1/100 rates of the standart dose in the plot trials, standart herbicide rate, 2x rates, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/8 rates of the standart dose in the field trials, 1/10, 1/50, 1/100 and 1/500 rates of the standart dose in the germination trials. The number of germinated seeds, the weight of dry, fresh and root were inhibited by all these herbicide residues in the soil. It has also been observed that low rates of atrazine and atrazine plus metolachlor have caused chlorosis, deformation and browning on leaves, stunting and browning in the lower stem of plants, these browning areas in time caused thinning and plants were broken from these areas and they finally died.

Söz konusu herbisitler, saksı denemelerinde kullanım dozunda, kullanım dozunun yarısı, 1/10'u, 1/50'si ve 1/100'ü oranında dozlarda, tarla denemesinde kullanım dozunun 2 katı, kullanım dozu, kullanım dozunun yarısı, 1/4'ü ve 1/8'i dozlarda, çimlendirme denemelerinde ise kullanım dozunun 1/10'u, 1/50'si, 1/100'ü ve 1/500'ü oranında dozlarda uygulanmıştır. Tüm herbisitler tohum çimlenme sayısını, şekerpancarı yaş, kuru ve kök ağırlığını etkilemiştir. Ayrıca, atrazine, atrazine+metolachlor etkili madde ile ilaçlanan topraklara ekilen şeker pancarı yapraklarında sararma, deformasyon ve kahverengileşme, bitki boylarında kısalma, bitkilerin toprak ile birleştiği gövde kısmında kahverengileşme gözlenmiş olup bu kahverengileşen bölge zamanla gövdede incelmeye neden olmuş ve bu incelen bölgelerden bitkiler kırılarak ölmüştür.
