New variety of multi-row spring barley as a raw material for beer productio

Two-row barley is traditionally used for beer production as the best raw material for beer production. However new multi-raw variety of barley “Marina” which has been created at the Plant Gene Pool and Selection Laboratory of State Agrarian University of Armenia met all the requirements of beer production varieties (outward features and chemical composition). It is necessary to mention that wild bulbous barley (H. bulbosum) has been used as one of initial parental forms for breeding this new variety. The new created variety of multi-row spring barley is offered for introduction into beer industry as a valuable raw material.
