Plant-Parasitic Nematodes Associated with Potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) in Bulgaria

In a survey of nematodes associated with potato conducted in four major potato-producing regions in Bulgaria from 2006 to 2008, following 17 species in descending order of frequency were found: Globodera rostochiensis (41%), Meloidogyne hapla (27%), Pratylenchus penetrans (16%), G. pallida (12%), Ditylenchus destructor (7%), M. arenaria (5%), Paratylenchus hamatus (3%), P. goodeyi (2%), P. neglectus (2%), Ditylenchus dipsaci (1%), Helicotylenchus digonicus (1%), H. platyurus (1%), H. pseudorobustus (1%), Tylenchorhynchus claytoni (1%), Merlinius brevidens (1%), Scutylenchus quadrifer (1%) and Longidorus elongates (1%). Frequency and density of the most distributed species from genus Globodera, Meloidogyne, Pratylenchus and Ditylenchus, varied among the four investigated regions.
