The breeding activity in the area of forage herbaceous crops in IMSA – Troyan aims at providing the practice in the mountainous and fore-mountainous regions of Bulgaria with adapted, high-yielding varieties possessing satisfactory value for use. The newly developed white clover variety, called Troya, is precisely such variety and it exceeds the standard variety Targovishte–40 in yield of green and dry mass by 15%. In addition, it has higher content of phosphorus and potassium than the standard.
