Improvement of potato protection system against Colorado beetle in Belarus | Усовершенствование системы защиты картофеля от колорадского жука в Беларуси

In course of long term research there was studied a potato (Solanum tuberosum) protection system improvement against Colorado beetle in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus. The research was realized in 2000-2002, 2006-2010 in the north, central south and new agro climatic zones of Belarus on a trial field of the Institute of Plant Protection of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and in the main potato producing farms. The experimental observations were realized in 2010 in agricultural production co-operatives 'Usha' in Berezinskij region and in 'Agro plant Snov' in Nesvizh region. The research was based on age and phenotype structure of phytophage population, their resistance monitoring to pyrethroids by frequency of phenomorph N3 occurrence, harmfulness forecast, and economic thresholds of insecticides application expediency including pre-planting tuber treatment or growing plants spraying by preparations considering special crop purpose. Production check of improved system of potato landing protection from Colorado beetle in 2010 confirmed its high efficiency: number of population was lowered on 91.9-100%, the save crop made 11.6-17.9 t/ha, a net profit – 8.5-24.2 million Belarusian rubles/ha with profitability – 158.3-167.3%.
