In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were analyzed indexes of rumen digestion and digestibility of nutritive substances by bull calves in case of application of fodders with different degree of by-pass protein. Research results showed that lowering the amount of degradable protein on 9% in diets of animals led to lowering of ammonia in rumen on 11,5% in relation to control. Ratio of degradable protein: nondegradable protein (70 :30) in diets caused irrational use fodder protein that was proved by a low level of total nitrogen content in rumen. In one of the experimental groups lowering of degradable protein on 9% in comparison with the control group bulls promoted increasing of digestibility of dry matter on 1,5% (P less than 0,05), organic matter – on 2,3%, crude protein – on 7,4%. It was determined that the formulation of diets with a given ratio of degradable and nondegradable protein for calves at the age of 8 months as the most optimal should be considered as the ratio of 67:33 and 61:39, which contributes to the high level processes of rumen digestion and digestibility of nutrients.
