In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were summarised the results of works on efficacy of use of non-traditional fertilizers produced from food industry wastes and by-products in fish-breeding ponds. In course of the study there were analysed food wastes formed in the process of sugar production (defecation residues; sugar beet pulp); spirit (distillery cereal and potato stillage); beer (beer grain; residual brewing yeast) and by-products of meat processing plants (technical albumin). Influence of the residues and by-products on natural forage base and fish productivity was studied after their application into water and ground in certain doses. Research results proved the efficiency of the method on stimulation of development of the natural forage base of rearing ponds and development of fish productivity. Depending on a type of applied wastes the natural fish productivity increased on 50-94% (up to 2,1-3,1 centner/ha), general fish productivity – on 13-32%. Application of wastes made it possible to lower feed expenses per unit of fish weight gain on 13-25% and expenses for application of nitrogen and phosphorous fertilizers – on up to 50% per area unit of a pond.
