In fish rearing pond farms of the Republic of Belarus there were developed fishery and technological schemes of breeding of mixed-age replacement European catfish (Silurus glanis). Rearing of fingerlings was realized in monoculture and in polyculture with carp (Cyprinus carpio) fingerlings. Two-, three- and four-year old European catfish was reared together with even-aged replacement and broodstock of carp (young fish produced as a result of wild egg-laying was used as feeds for European catfish). In course of the study there were presented fishery and biological results of rearing of brood fingerlings, two-, three- and four-year old European catfish in monoculture and polyculture conditions. Research results showed that it was necessary the rear brood fingerlings with the average minimal weight of 80-100 gram, two-year old ones - 1 kilogram, three-year old ones – 1,8-2,0 kilogram, four-year old ones – 3 kilogram. Breeding brood fingerlings of European catfish should be realized in ponds in monoculture and in polyculture with carp fingerlings with fish-holding density up to 1 thousand pieces/ha. Brood two-, three- and four-year old European catfish should be bred in polyculture with even-aged and elder-aged groups of carps with fish-holding density 30 pieces/ha, 10 pieces/ha, and 5-10 pieces/ha respectively.
