In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were analysed the results of studying the biological efficiency of the herbicide terrsan, WDG (sulfometurone-methyl acid, WDG 750 g/kg) in large cranberry (Oxycoccus macrocarpus) plantings. In course of the research period in 2009-2010 the dominant weeds of large cranberry plants were silverweed cinquefoil (Potentilla anserina), hare's-foot sedge (Cаrех leporina), white clover (Trifolium repens), creeping buttercup (Ranunculus repens), grassleaf starwort (Stellaria graminea), field horsetail (Equisetum arvense), field sow thistle (Sonchus arvensis), horse dock (Rumex confertus). The herbicide terrsan at the rate of application 0,1-0,12 kg/ha in case of application at hibernation stage of large fruit cranberry top bud swelling , at early stages of weed plants development made it possible to provide weed number decrease up to 91,7-97,9%, weight – up to 89,2-96,5% and increase of berry yield in 1,5-2,0 times. Single application of the herbicide was recommended to realize in early spring period before the active vegetation of weed plants at phenological stages of large cranberry.
