In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there were studied the agro-meteorological aspects of formation of Indian barnyard millet (Echinochloa frumentacea) green mass productivity due to the choice of optimal sowing terms. The held trials were realized in 2008–2010 in agricultural production co-operative 'Putrishki' on experimental field of Grodno State Agrarian University on sod-podzolic loamy soil, which underlie from the depth 0.7 m of moraine loam with рН 5.9–6.5, humus content – 1.8–1.9%, Р2О5 – 215–230 and К2О – 195–212 mg/kg of soil. There was studied the influence of peculiarities of temperature and moisture conditions during Indian barnyard millet vegetation with different sowing terms on green mass productivity. As a result of realized studies it was established that optimization of Indian barnyard millet sowing terms helped to increase productivity of its green mass on average by 8.8%. It was found that the sowing of millet in the second ten-day period of May provided conditions for the formation of the biggest yield of dry matter in green mass per 1 hectare (7.06–9.02 t). Sowing in the third ten-day period of May decreased the output of dry matter per 1 hectare on average by 22.6%.
