Aujeszky's disease or pseudorabies is a viral disease of agricultural and fur animals, characterized with brain and spinal cord damage and pruritus. Disease is caused by Herpesviridae agent and first described in 1849 by A. Aujeszky. Pathogenicity and clinical implications of the disease depend on specie and age of animal alongside with infection method. Aujeszky's disease can cause death of 80-90% of nonimmune animals or provoke other bacterial or viral diseases. Nowadays Aujeszky's disease inflict damage of swine-breeding branch all over the world. Main measure of Aujeszky's disease prophylaxis is vaccination by dry vaccine GNKI. But this measure is not exhaustive because disease often transforms into latent form and continues to present in animal's organisms. Analysis of global epizootic situation per 2009-2010 is made. Table of registered Aujeszky's disease by countries is presented. Some indexes of Aujeszky's disease of swine in the Republic of Belarus are shown. Epizootic situation in the Republic of Belarus is evaluated with the aim of planning of prophylaxis means demand.
