The aim of this study was to evaluate the yields of hop cones as well as the levels of admixtures and essential oils in cones of four different hop varieties (Saaz semi-early red bine hop - traditional and recovered forms, Premiant and Sladek) grown in hop yards aged from 9 to 19 years in the region of Trsice, Czech Republic. Hop cones were harvested in 2009 and 2010. All the studied variables (hop yield, levels of admixtures and essential oils) were influenced by all the factors studied (variety, year of harvest and age of the hop yard). The concentration of essential oils was lower in old hop yards (in all varieties and both years studied).
