A genetic diversity study of Damask rose, Rosa damascene by using inter simple sequence repeats markers
2010
Silliman, W.A. | Al-batal, N. | Lawand, S.
In this research study the genetic diversity of Rose damascene spreaded In the provinces of countryside of Damascus and Aleppo (Syria), using Inter Simple Sequence Repeats technique with 8 primer obtained from the Atomic Energy Commission of Syria. The total number of all alleles resulted from the primers was 39 alleles with polymorphic (100%). The number of alleles ranged between (3) alleles with each of the primers (ISSR3, ISSR-5, ISSR-6) and (7) as the highest number with the primers (ISSR-1) with the average of 4.87 for each primer. The cluster analysis and relationship tree showed that the highest relationship was between the genotypes. (R.D---A, R.D---B) in the province of Damascus countryside(0.1671), and the lowest relationship was between the genotype (RD -- C) in the province of Aleppo and the genotype (R.D --- B) in the province of Damascus Countryside (1.2657).
