Consideraciones sobre el potencial de la Viticultura de Precisión en Galicia

El autor revisa la trayectoria y las principales características de la viticultura de precisión, así como su justificación por la necesidad de tener en cuenta la variabilidad que suele estar presente en las parcelas dedicadas al viñedo, para elaborar planes de gestión que tengan en cuenta esa variabilidad, a la hora de aumentar la producción y la calidad de las cosechas vitícolas. También se comentan las peculiaridades, objetivos y metodologías de las diferentes etapas que deben abordarse a la hora de implementar este tipo de tecnologías y sus perspectivas de futuro. En la revisión se advierte sobre la conveniencia de abordar la incorporación de este tipo de técnicas con criterios flexibles, tanto en términos de coste de implementación (muy variables dependiendo de los objetivos técnico-económicos de cada explotación), como por la gran variedad de técnicas disponibles que la ponen al alcance de casi cualquier tipo de explotación. Por último, se incluyen una serie de reflexiones destinadas a identificar las zonas vitícolas y los tipos de explotaciones que presentan un mayor potencial para la eventual implementación de la viticultura de precisión en Galicia.

The author reviews the trajectory and the main features of the precision viticulture as well as its justification for the need to take into account the variability that is usually present in the plots dedicated to vineyard, to develop management plans that take into account this variability, to increase the production and the quality of the winegrowing crops. It also discusses the characteristics, objectives and methodologies of the different stages that must be addressed when implementing these technologies and their future prospects. The review warns about the desirability of addressing the incorporation of these techniques with a flexible approach, both in terms of implementation cost (highly variable depending on the technical and economic objectives of each operation), and by the variety of available techniques make it available for almost any kind of exploitation. Finally, include a series of reflections designed to identify the growing areas and types of establishments that have a greater potential for the eventual implementation of precision viticulture in Galicia.
