A variety of congenital structural and functional defects involving skeletal, muscular or nervous systems of the new born calves has been reported in the literature (Arthur et al., 1989). Polymelia is a term used to describe duplication of a whole limb. When one or more additional limbs are attached to different regions of the body, the condition is termed as heterotopic polymelia. When the additional limb is attached over the thorax the condition is called thoracomelia (Singh and Tayal, 1993). The present paper puts on record a successful correction of thoracomelia in a new born calf. The wound was closed in routine manner. Postoperatively, antibiotic course was given for six days. The calf was able to get up on all the four limbs on the next day itself and the animal made an uneventful recovery
