Study of Compatibility and Evaluation of New Strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) Cultivars.

To study of compatibility and evaluation of new strawberry cultivars, an experiment was conducted on 14 cultivars of strawberry (Ventana ,Camarosa ,Fresno ,Gaviota, Karcynberg, Classica, Pajaro, Paros, Diamante, Missionary, Mrak, Selva, Queen Elisa and Kurdistan) in a RCBD (Randomized Complete Block Design) with 3 rep. in Grizeh research station (sanandaj) and Kamal abad Horticultural research station(Karaj) during 2007-2011. Morpho-physiological and phenological traits were measured and determined in this experiment such as total leaves of plant, petiol length, leaf area, chlorophyll contents, crop production habit, number of crowns per plant, number of inflorescences per plant, number of inflorescences per crown, inflorescence length, number of frosted flowers, blooming date, flowering period, date of first ripen fruit, fruiting period, runnering start date, number of runners per plant, number of total fruits per plant, fruit volume, fruit weight, total yield per plant, TSS, titratable acidity (TA) and anthocyanin pigments content. Complex variance analysis showed a significant difference (p0.01) between varieties for all evaluated traits. Different Years didn't show significant difference (p0.05) in total leaves per plant, petiol length, runnering start date, number of crowns, blooming date, titratable acidity (TA) and anthocyanin pigments content but showed significant differences on other evaluated traits. Mean comparisons showed that "Queen Elisa" cultivar had the highest (953.7 gr/plant) and the "Gaviota" cultivar had the lowest yield (100.9 gr/plant), compared with the others. A significant and positive correlations (p0.01) were among yield and total leaves per plant, petiol length, number of crowns per plant, number of inflorescences per plant, number of total fruits, fruit size and fruit weight.
