The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) erosion model is widely used to produce erosion risk map on a regional basis including EIA reports for agriculture in Malaysia. The USLE predicts average annual soil loss as a function of six factors viz rain erosivity, soil erodibility, topographic factors, crop cover management and conservation measures. Each of these factors may be calculated and expressed numerically. The empirical value of the soil erodibility factor as measured from soil erosion plot is very limited. However, in the USLE a Soil Erodibility Nomograph has been established to deduce the soil erodibility factor based on certain soil parameters. This paper outlined the procedures and assumption used to derive the value of soil erodibility such as analytical data on soil samples and organic matter content beside soil structure and drainage class in the soil profile description. The soil erodibility values for some 170 soil series has bee n computed with ease using a spreadsheet program.
