Comparative study of the performance of 22 soyabean varieties.

The performances of 22 varieties of soybean were studied in respect of nine characters. Two medium duration cultivers, 'EC - 11780' and 'Horosy', were found to perform best among all the varieties tested. They yielded much higher than all other varieties and also had a good combination of other characters. They were moderately tall, had a good vigour, and produce the highest number of fruits and seeds per plant, the seeds being relatively smaller in size.
