The effect of some agrotechnical practices and their interaction on the yield formation of triticale (varieties Dargo and Ring) was studied. Results show a favourable effect of higher sowing rate (5 million of grains per ha) and earlier date (the 3th decade of September) on the number of plants in spring. The increasing nitrogen rates (0-140 kg.ha-1) in Dargo variety did not affect significantly the number of plants, while in Ring variety it influenced this index unfavourably. Earlier sowing date, higher sowing rate and higher N-rates, significantly influenced the number of spikes in both varieties. The significant relation was not found between the observed factors and TKW. The yield of grain increased at higher N-rates, mainly at the lower sowing rate (3 mill. grains/ha). The differences in yields were statistically significant between the years of the experiment. There were determined the differences in the grain yield between varieties, too (Dargo 6.14 t.ha-1, Ring 5.90 t.ha-1).
