Some ecological aspects i.e. spatial distribution, reproduction and food habit of Glyptothorax platypogon have been observed in the Cisadane River, Cidokom, Bogor, from March to August 1986. The spatial distribution study was based on substrate, current, and stream depth. Based on analysis of Principle Component (PCA) it was found that G. platypogon tended to inhabit stony substrate, fast-tonent current and moderate depth. Substrate with medium (O10-30 cm) and big stones (O>30 cm) is preferred, which can be as suitable adhesive substrate, refuge and feeding site. The fecundity is low and rather delayed spawner. Two peaks of spawning seasons occured in April and July, it is supposed to be nearly coincided with the abundance of its natural food resources, especially benthic insect. The reproduction indicated that G. platypogon tended to have "K-strategy" pattern.
