During the 1991/92 season, a series of genotypes of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) were evaluated in different localities and sowing dates, in the north central and south central zones of Chile. Three localities were used, the first one was the Experimental Station of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica of Chile, located in the district of Pirque, Metropolitan Region; the second was a farm located in the district of San Francisco de Mostazal, Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region, and the third one was a farm located in the district of Retiro, Maule Region. The evaluations were height of plant, duration of the period between sowing and beginning of flowering, seed yield of oil content and yield in the genotypes, in the different localities and sowing dates.
