The activity and quantity of the aerial roots in maize was bigger than the roots of other nodes in soil. The aerial roots of maize had fully grown till the milking stage and its activity was highest from the tasseling period to the pollinating period. The cutting of the aerial roots of maize made reduce grain yield per hectare.
