The present investigation was conducted during 1987 and 1988 seasons to study the effect of salinity on the vegetative growth and leaf and root Cl, Na, Ca and K contents of apricot seedlings. The expertimental results revealed that the vegetative growth of the seedlings markedly decreased with increasing the salinity level in the irrigation water. Chloride, sodium and calcium present in the leaves and roots of the experimental seedlings showed a progressive increase with salinity treatments. The potassium content, however, did not show a definite trend.
