In the first experiment dogs were vaccinated with the strain of the distemper virus prepared on chicken embryo membrane. Each of the four groups of dogs in this experiment was vaccinated with a different dose of the vaccinal strain, i.e. with a different dose of virus particles. In the second experiment a vaccine originating from tissue culture was applied. This experiment also included a number of different vaccine concentrations. The difference in the immunological responses of the dogs in the former and the latter experiment was evident. In the former one the values of serological responses were uneven and deaths were recorded. In the later there was uniformity of serological responses and a comparative regularity of the results of infection relative to the quantities of virus particles in the dose and the titer of antibodies in the serum before the vaccination. The strain from tissue culture has more immunogenicity than the strain from chicken embryo membranes. The immunogenous ability of antigens is a key moment for the choice of the distemper vaccine.
