Phra-buddha-bat Self Help Landsettlement was established in 1940 for the purpose of the better living development of the poor people migration. The sampling members between male and female were nearly the same in number. Their average age was 40-42 years old. Major occupation was agriculture with 32 rai of average agricultural area and 2.4 rai for habitate per family. Annual income was 33,425.20 baht. Most of them gained agricultural knowledge by listening radio, watching television and asking their neighbours for agricultural suggestion. Most of them needed to be trained in agricultural under the Demonstration and Training Centre Project, because of their lack of knowledge. Most of knowledge needed was field crop cultivation of corn, mungbean and cotton in the field of individual characteristic variety, pest and disease control, manuring and harvesting. Livestock knowledge was also needed for dairy cattle, beef cattle and poultry in the field of individual characteristic variety, disease control and feeding. At least one person of the family was willing to be trained at average 50 baht payment of each course. Most of them suggested that the training programme should be lasted for 3-5 days at any time during January to April. The lecturer should be the local agriculterist and experienced farmers who used to work in the village. The settlers also required the certificate after completion. The hypotheses were no difference in training needed for the various ages, Thai literacy, income level, period of settlement duration and status of group organization.
