Microbiological methods were used to examine 14 samples of royal jelly to determine content of thiamine, riboflavin, pyridoxine, niacin, pantothenic acid biotin, inositol and folic acid. While some vitamins (pyridoxin and biotin) are distributed over a wide spectrum, others - particularly riboflavin, thiamine, niacin and folic acid - showed uniform values which led us to believe that these vitamins may constitute characterization elements.
