Medicinal plants played an important role as raw materials particularly in the pharmaceutical industry. They represented important exports and import of Thailand. A proper selection of medicinal plants to grow in forest plantation fulfilled such demands. Medicinal plants that may be grown were as follows: Rauvolfia serpentina, Tamarindus indica, Cassia acutifolia, Cassia angustifolia, Citrullus vulgaris, Chrysanthemum cinnerariae, Zingerber officinale, Alpinia galanga, Mentha sp., Ricinus communis, Piper nigrum.
