[Development of horses' exterior evaluation in Latvia]. [English]

The importance of exterior as a fundamental indicator of horses' quality for the selection of the Latvian Horse breed is explained. Investigations have been carried out to determine the correlation between the workability of horses and their exterior. A new exterior evaluation method worked out at the LUA Animal Breeding Department is described, its advantages are pointed out. The linear description of exterior and the evaluation of horses' constitution are presented in tables.
