This article summarizes the result of hystochemical characteristic of leaf epidermis for Allium cepa, A. nutants and their hybrids. Our investigations show that if hybrid plants are not resistant to Peronospora, they have a high content of pectin substances, as in A. cepa. Hereditability if epidermal hole forms does not correlate with plant resistance to Peronospora.
