The investigations on the heavy metals concentrations in soils, plant products, drinking water and cow milk were conducted in two villages (in Lublin region). It has been found that the soils in both villages have natural (background) content of heavy metals. This was connected with the slight variability of texture of loessial soils and similar content of organic substance and iron, as well as soil pH. Investigated soils of both villages are suitable for growing all agricultural crops. The content of heavy metals in plants products, drinking water and milk did not exceed the critical levels.
