The analysis of soil and rhizosphere microflora in Quercus sessilis habitat with drying occurrence have shown the following results: The total microflora compared to the number of microorganisms in summer is considerably greater in soil than in rhizosphere. The root activity in autumn is amplified, and the rhizosphere effect on healthy trees is markedly evident. The number of oligonitrofilic bacteria which indicate unfavourable nitrogen regime is particularly increased in rhizosphere at trees with 3 and 4 desiccation index. The ammonifying and nitrifying bacteria whose activity is casting for synthesis of easy access nitrogen are in depression in locality of dried-up tree which indicate some disturbances in nitrogen cycle.
