Within the investigation of the presence of sheep infection with the PI-3 virus, there were examined 569 blood sera of sheep from four farms and 744 blood sera of sheep from private farms in four regions of the Socialist Republic Bosnia-Herzegovina, (Yugoslavia). The titre of haemagglutinating-inhibitory (HI) antibodies in sheep sera using the HI test was examined. No HI antibodies were found in 21.79% of the examined blood sera of sheep from the four state-owned farms. The number of sera with significant titres for infection with the PI-3 virus (1:16 or higher) was from 15.56% - 67.51%. The highest determined titre was 1:1024, and the total average titres ranged from 1:10.27 to 60.90. No HI antibodies were found in 30.64% of the examined blood sera of sheep from the private farms in all four regions of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The number of sera with significant titres for PI-3 infection was from 19.00% to 50.35%. The highest determined titre in sera from private farms was 1:623, and the total average titres ranged from 1:15.11 to 1:30.7.
