Response of peanut [Arachis hypogaea (L.)] to SPDA [Southern Philippines Development Authority] organic fertilizer on limed Adtuyon clay soil.

Application of 500 kgs SPDA organic fertilizer per hectare to limed Adtuyon clay significantly increased the average number of seeds and increased the peanut yield from 0.619 ton/ha in the control to 1.609 tons/ha. Addition of 500 kgs SPDA organic fertilizer per hectare significantly increased the percent organic matter content and the available phosphorus from 4.11 and 23.60 ppm P to 9.32 and 85.26 ppm, respectively. The application of 1/3 organic fertilizer and 2/3 organic in the control to 333.333 ppm K. The application of 500 kgs SPDA organic fertilizer per hectare is considered the most economical in terms of cost of inputs, earning a net income of P22,250.00 and a net return per pesos invested of P1.59. The use of inorganic fertilizer netted only P8,013.86 with a net return per peso invested for only P0.5575.
