Parameters of cone size (length, width and weight) of Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus L.) in artificial 22-year old plantations, separated for seed production were very variable. Even higher variability was observed in the total seed yield and full seed yield per cone. All investigated parameters of cones and seed yield of Eastern white pine in young plantations are, to a large extent, under gene control which is significant for the improvement of seed yield in seed plantations through selection and grafting.
