This paper studies histochemical characters of carbohydrates and proteins on the oogenesis of Penaeus kerathurus. The carbohydrates and proteins contents, as well as their nature, change easily along the reproductive cycle. Glycoproteins, acid mucopolysaccharides and proteins rich in tyrosine, lysine, cysteine and arginine are present on the cytoplasm and on the yolk. In some oogenesis phase, have been found neutral mucopolysaccharides, glycogen and proteins rich in tryptophan and cystine. The peripherical corps are fucsinophyl structures and they contain neutral mucopolysaccharides and glycoproteins, as well as proteins rich in lysine, tryptophan and cysteine and specially cystine, arginine and tyrosine high content proteins.
