The application of kieserite as Mg fertilizer source gave significant increase in nut and copra production per palm from the fourth to the fifth year, with 24 and 22 nuts or 9.2 and 8.3 kg per tree, respectively over the control. Epsom salt produced a consistent increase in copra per nut from the second to fifth year with increases ranging from 30.6 to 77 grams over the control. Leaf analysis of kieserite treated palms had a significantly higher S content. Leaf P was apparently increased in dolomite treated palms but did not influence the nut and copra production. Correlation regression analysis showed that sulfur significantly improved the nut and copra yields per tree, while magnesium that of copra per nut and copra yield. Of the three Mg sources, the application of kieserite turned out to be the most profitable in terms of net return.
