With diallel crossing of 4 varieties of the Virginian tobacco type, the following characteristics have been investigated: the number of leaves per stalk and the width of leaves in the medium belt. Significant differences have been established among the investigated characteristics the additive action of gene is important. The number of dominant alleles is larger than the number of recessive ones. The relation H2/4H1 shows asymmetry to positive and negative effects of genes. The average degree of domination for both characteristics is less than one which means that there exists partial domination.
