Micropropagation of black locust (Robinia pseudoacacia L.) was achieved by multiple shoot culture method. The high efficiency of this method suggests the possibility of its application. Initial explants, axillary bud meristems, were excised from one-year-old branches collected in early spring from selected trees aged more that five years. Common composed Aspen culture medium (ACM) with low content of growth regulators was used. To this medium 0.5 mg/l BA (6-benzylaminopurine), 0.02 mg/l NAA (1-naphthaleneacetic acid) and 20 mg/l adenine sulfate were added for induction and multiplication of buds. Multiplication rate achieved was 4-15 shoots per explant. To the same medium only 0.5 mg/l IBA (indole-3-butyric acid) was added for induction of adventitious root system on the bases of shoots. The root system was regenerated in 100% cultured shoots. After complete plantlets were regenerated i n v i t r o, and passed through hardening period, they developed into the normal plantings in field conditions.
